Sensei Andrew went over four techniques tonight:

De-Ashi-Barai
Same as previous posts.

O-Soto-Gari
Standard o-soto-gari practice

Tip from Wayne Jewells: With your sleeve grip - pull the uke's arm directly into you and keep it tight as you do the throw. This will give your throw more control and power.

Three Seio-Nage Drill
This drill started with ippon seio-nage, then moved to morote seio-nage and finished with kata-eri seio-nage. All three throws were performed one after the other.

Ground Pin Drill - Turning Around The Body
The tori starts in a pin such as kesa-gatame or tate-shiho-gatame, then changes positions to yoko-shiho-gatame, kami-shiho-gatame, azure kesa-gatame, etc. Try to move in the direction the uke is pushing or pulling you toward so that you block their escape attempt.

Note: When transitioning from one pin to another keep it small so you don't leave yourself vulnerable to a turnover. An example of a bad transition would be starting in tate-shiho-gatame and transitioning to kami-shiho-gatame. To maintain control you would want to first transition to kesa-gatame, then move to kami-shiho-gatame.
