Tonight Sensei Shane went over two techniques:
De-Ashi-Barai Variation:
For this variation you take a cross step in toward your opponent so they think you're going in for a forward throw, like seio-nage, but then quickly change direction and perform de-ashi-barai from the side so that your foot sweeps the back of theirs. Remember to use kuzushi and sweep in the direction their toes are facing.
As an example, if you were to use this technique on your opponent's left side (you moving to the right) you would cross step in with your left foot, then quickly spin around on the ball of your foot and swing your right foot into the opponent's left to perform the sweep. You can sweep out one leg or both.
Juji-Gatame:
Standard armbar drill, left and right side.
