Sensei Andrew went over three techniques tonight:

O-Soto-Gari:
Standard throwing practice.

Harai-Goshi:
Standard throwing practice.

Harai-Goshi to O-Soto-Gari:
This combination is useful when your harai-goshi doesn't work.

You begin by attempting harai-goshi. The uke, or opponent, stiffens up and blocks the attack. At this point you hop around clockwise on your left foot, keeping your right foot placed on the uke's calf, while pushing them backward and attacking with o-soto-gari.
